Well, I've been busy doing non-art related life stuff. Opened a yoga studio this fall - no more art for me for a while, at least, no more commissions. (You can check the yoga studio out at www.florenceyoga.com)

But, I have had a few outstanding commissions to fulfill - hence the pet portrait of "Winnie" - Oil on stretched canvas, 8x10 inches. I have another couple of items to finish up, then it's yoga yoga yoga all day long.

I've done this view twice before in watercolor - once for me, once as a commission. There's just something about it that I can't get enough of...perhaps because it's a view the makes you realize why you drove 8 hours up from Massachusetts. Just pulling into the drive of Arcady and seeing Passamaquoddy Bay opening up before my eyes always makes me happy. So, I tried to capture it in oil.

Pet Portaits

All my paintings are done from a photo you provide, and will be painted on archival quality, gallery style, canvas-covered art board, that can be hung via a pre-drilled slot on the back. Although mostly dogs are shown here on my site, any animal or pet you would like - dog, cat, ferret, bird, hamster, potbellied pig, llama, horse, snake, guinea pig, etc. - can be painted!

I haven't raised my prices since 2006, but need to do so this year, as materials costs have risen considerably - still, my work is reasonably priced for commissioned fine artwork, so please consider me for a pet portrait.

Watercolor - 8x10, original only, $100, framed $135
Oil - 5x7, original only, $130, framed $160

Pricing for still life and landscape oil paintings available upon request.

House Portraits

I no longer seek to do house portraits as much, but will consider special requests from friends and family. All watercolo paintings are done on Arches watercolor paper. Ink drawings are done on Bristol vellum. Prices as follows:

Watercolor, unframed, original only - 8x10 - $140; 11x14 - $200
Ink, unframed, original only - 8x10 - $125; 11x14 - $185

I do offer basic framing services, too. Prices will be based on cost of materials and labor. I can give you a quote on this as well.

Barnaby Head, New River, NB, Canada - SOLD

This is a wonderful place up in Atlantic Canada - off Rte 1 about half way between St. George and St. John, NB. New River Beach is probably one of the prettiest beaches on the Atlantic Coast. Barnaby Head is an undeveloped peninsula that can be reached via New River - great hiking trails abound here along the coast.

I've created this blog to post my artwork that I have created over the years for clients. I primarily paint or draw house portraits for folks who would like to commemorate a home. I work in watercolor or ink.

Many of my commissions are gifts upon the sale or purchase of a home, some for realtors, some for children buying their parents an unusual gift for the holidays or anniversaries. I've also painted churches as a wedding gifts, and have done several architectural commissions for commercial property owners.

I've been doing this for about 10 years, but have been creating art all of my life, and studied Art at Mount Holyoke College in the 80's. I also do pet portraits, botanicals, and still life works, some of which I will post here.
